I visited this the other day, it is in a right state! Only half of the enquipment is intact and what is there is so old and shabby! Who would I write to or speak to about this? Surely they need to sort this one out before building a totally new one or is this one just forgotten about now? |

Has the equipment just been well used and worn out or has it been vandalised? |

I think it is a mixture of reasons why it is in the state it is... 1) It has been neglected for years as the council probably feel an update is not a priority even though there are hundreds of small children living in Bingham. 2) Teenagers hang out there at night as they have nowhere else to go to hang out. |

I agree that there is nowhere for young people to go - just shows the urgent need for a central community centre. I don't necessarily blame the local council for the poor state of the playpark because I remember some years ago that the lovely play area on Winhill used to be maintained and repaired frequently including a dog proof fence. Every time repairs were carried out a group of mindless vandals with only two brain cells between them destroyed the equipment within days of repair. Eventually the council gave up and removed and flattened the area so that the local children have suffered ever since. I wonder if PC49 could perhaps have discoverd who these destructive idiots were or were such incidents low priority in the police's eyes? These sorts of incidents including graffiti impact on more people than the higher priority ones. |

There are currently four play areas with play equipment provided and maintained by Bingham Town Council. 1. Crowe Close Play area - Entrance off Cogley Lane. There is soon to be a fifth play area site with new equipment installed on the green space known as Wallenfels Park, beside Grantham Road, by the Birds estate. Bingham Town Council secured approximately £50,000 in grant funding towards this project. The Town Council are considering the issues with the play equipment on the Crowe Close site. still a shame that the butt field which is to be enjoyed by a select few is a higher priority than play parks which can be enjoyed by all children! Surely the majority should be catered for first? |

every playground is inspected and litter picked 7 days a week by myself. i take it you are refering to the fence and log edging and the lack of bark? the problem is its made of wood and as we all know wood as a short life span and easilly vandlised. we have replaced some but as soon as we repair it its been broken again.we put a new gate on and i spent one saturday morning trying to get it out one of the kids slides! it was only on for 2 days!as for the lack of bark this is old fashion now kids kick it around the wind blows it and people take it to use at home. the way to combat all this would be to use metal fencing and use wet safe pour sufacing. but all this is not cheap. actually i meant the actual play equipment, the metal items i assume are intended for slightly older children, which are just now metal posts sticking out of the ground |
