Traffic lights on Nottingham Road
| Posted by sportgirl - 00:22 - 26th February 2010 |
Whilst I appreciate traffic lights on Nottingham Road are needed for school children, was there any reason with Nottingham Road being a long stretch; they decided to put the lights close to the estate junctions.... When the lights go from red to green; getting out of these roads onto Nottingham road is now a nightmare. |

Hi Sportsgirl. I can appreciate that the placing of the crossing may be an inconvenience to drivers, but looking at its geographical position I can only assume its placing was done to ensure that it was set equidistant for most residents to use. To have this at the Saxondale end of the road would render is useless to those living closer to the town center, and to have it closer to the cross roads would negate its effectiveness full stop as there is already a suitable crossing at the junction. I am a driver, and cannot see any serious detriment to motorists by the positioning of this crossing, and can only see it being a life saver. |

maybe there should be more traffic lights on that road going by the speed some people drive down the road! |
