Charity bags through the door
| Posted by Mrs-S - 10:36 - 19th March 2009 |
Please read the small print before 'donating' an awful lot of these bags are not actually from the charities they appear to be either by using similar logos or fonts. A lot of these companies sell your donations then give the charity an amount of money per KG weightage. If you want all of your donations to go to a specific charity then you are best putting it in a bin bag and driving it round. Im guessing a lot of people think they are being generous by donating in these bags but really only a small percentage goes to the charity (if it does at all!) |

In two weeks I must of had about 8 charity bags posted through my door. I do try to sort out some unwanted clothes to give, but how sad it is if it isn't going to a worthy cause. |

What about using the Planet Aid recycling bins in the pub and book warehouse car parks, are they any better? |

As far as I know these 'banks' are the same although again only as far as I know they are legitimate. A lot of these bags coming though the door are breaking laws and have and are being investigated by trading standards. |
