The Bingham Tape Scheme provides a monthly audio magazine comprising of local news, interviews, current affairs and book reviews to a variety of people who, for one reason or another, find it difficult to get out and about. The service to recipients is entirely free and is funded by local people and organisations.
2008 and saw the switch from tape to digital cd. Those recipients who do not possess the necessary equipment have it provided by the Scheme. Currently there are just under 100 recipients in the Bingham area.
The magazine is delivered to the recipient by one of our own team - known as a Visitor - whose visit also helps to maintain a contact with the outside world.
We are always interested in hearing from people who either wish to help in the production of the magazine, or know of someone who might enjoy receiving it.
